Glossary

Apollo – US manned space program which took men to the moon electrostatically

electrostatically charged – produced or caused by charged atoms

human base – community where scientists live which includes living quarters and work areas

micrometeoroids – very small, often dust-sized pieces of a meteor

regolith – layer of loose rock resting on bedrock which makes the surface

silica dust – a white or colorless dust; can be found in various minerals used to make glass and concrete

silicosis – a lung disease caused when silica dust is breathed in over a period of time
